Wirral Community Champions
What is a Community Champion?
Community Champions are trusted local volunteers who:
-
Promote health and wellbeing.
-
Share vital information with their communities.
-
Help build trust between residents and public health services.
-
Reach and support communities that may be underrepresented or overlooked.
This approach is rooted in community-led action, empowering residents to shape healthier, more connected neighbourhoods.
Why are we relaunching now?
The COVID-19 pandemic showed us the power of listening and working alongside communities. Relaunching the programme means:
-
Embedding those lessons into everyday practice.
-
Strengthening local leadership.
-
Ensuring Wirral’s communities continue to thrive through collaboration.
