Champs Directors launch All Together Fairer Neighbourhoods
Friday, 13 March 2026
Cheshire and Merseyside Directors of Public Health and Director of Population Health have published All Together Fairer Neighbourhoods – An evidence-based framework for Cheshire and Merseyside to support the creation of local neighbourhood health plans.
The framework has been developed collaboratively by the nine Directors of Public Health and the NHS Director of Population Health to support Health and Wellbeing Boards and system partners as neighbourhood models continue to evolve in line with Fit for the Future: the 10 Year Health Plan for England. The principles outlined in the publication have been endorsed by a wide range of partners including Cheshire and Merseyside’s dedicated Neighbourhood Health Board.
All Together Fairer Neighbourhoods builds on the established All Together Fairer commitment to tackling health inequalities across the life course, grounded in the Marmot principles. It provides a clear and consistent foundation to help local areas translate national ambition into practical, locally led action.
Professor Helen Bromley, Director of Public Health for Cheshire West and Chester and Lead Director for All Together Fairer Neighbourhoods on behalf of Champs Directors, said:
“Across Cheshire and Merseyside, partners are already working in neighbourhoods to strengthen prevention and tackle inequalities. All Together Fairer Neighbourhoods brings that work together under a shared set of guiding principles, helping us align effort, build on community assets and maintain a strong focus on outcomes.
“This framework demonstrates the strength of public health leadership across our subregion. By working collectively and consistently, we can ensure neighbourhood approaches are rooted in evidence, shaped by communities and focused on reducing avoidable health inequalities.”
